
With the Communications pathway, students explore the world of video by utilizing MaST’s HD Studio. Through a variety of courses, students learn to communicate messages effectively, to handle professional level equipment, and to express their creativity through the medium of video.
Available Courses:
Video I
Students will learn about the art of producing videos that tell a story. In addition, students will learn about cameras, audio equipment, video switchers, editing software, tripods, lighting, storyboarding, blocking, scripting, writing, music, and much more. The goal of the semester is to be able to create visual stories using the understanding learned in the class.
Video Journalism
This course develops skills gathering and presenting current issues in our immediate and broader culture. Focus is on awareness of balancing objective reporting and interactions with the entire K-12 MaST community. Original Graphic Creation is a component used to make sure that the students understand copyright laws.
