Important Letter from Administration

Dear MaST Parents/Guardians:

As you know, student safety is our top priority.  A safe school is a drug free school. Recently, there has been an increase in illegal substances making their way into our high school.  We want to take this opportunity to make it very clear that the possession or sale of drugs of any kind will not be tolerated at MaST. It is important that our students and families understand the dangers and repercussions of these activities.

We recently sent out a letter outlining the dangers of vape pens and edible, laced candies.  It is clear that drug use is evolving. In addition, marijuana laws have been changing throughout the country. It must remain clear that the possession and use of marijuana/THC laced products is illegal for minors and is illegal on school grounds. Students found with any device designed for the smoking of nicotine, THC, or any unidentifiable substance will receive consequences consistent with the Family Handbook, including possible expulsion from school.

In order to maintain a safe environment, we will be bringing police dogs in to complete a drug sweep within the next month.  We will also be holding assemblies to ensure that our students are informed as to how to navigate this issue for themselves and to make good decisions in their school and personal lives.
