Response to Intervention Response to Intervention (RTI) is an assessment-intervention framework that allows schools to deliver instructional support. RTI uses a multi-tier model of intervention. Each tier represents an increasing level of instruction matched to the student needs. In our RTI model, all students in K-5 are screened and monitored for specific educational outcomes. Students needing additional assistance are provided targeted intervention and their progress is carefully monitored. Movement between tiers is a collaborative decision between the parent, regular education teacher, and RTI specialist. Students who make limited progress despite intensifying degrees of support are referred for a multi-disciplinary evaluation to determine eligibility for special education services.
